Christian private school in Bothell, WA
At UCiC Elementary School, we offer a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses various subjects to provide a well-rounded education for our students. Our programs are designed to foster a love for learning and promote academic, social, and emotional development. We offer free tutoring after school for those that need a little more support in Math or English/Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) after quarterly evaluations.
Day-to-day at UCiC
Our Eagles (what we call our students since our mascot is an eagle) generally have all their core curriculum learning in the morning and specialty classes in the afternoon. Specialty subjects are P.E., Art, Music, Social & Emotional Learning, and Spanish. Core curriculum consists of Math, ELAR, Science, Social Studies, and Tech+Engineering. Students also spend time at the library, in bible studies, Chapel, and with their reading buddies.
Core learning
Every year we evaluate the best curriculum options for our students. We use Eureka for the Math, BJU Word Press for the English, Grammar & Writing, Mosado Press for Literature, Wordly Wise for vocabulary, FOSS for Science, and Alive! by TCI for Social Studies.
Instilling Christian values
All students have chapel together where a rotation of students lead praise and there's guest speaker who discusses a different character trait.
Social and emotional development
In addition to Social Studies, the school counselor rounds with each grade for "Wave Groups" (name is derived from emotions come in waves). Wave groups discuss an aspect of emotional or social maturity (ex: sharing or having a growth mindset) and do exercises together.
Integrated STEM
We've implemented Project Lead the Way for STEM and arranged the learning units to supplement and enhance the lessons scheduled in the core curriculum classes. In the 2nd half of the school year, we bridge into robotics for the upper grades.
Big on fine arts
UCiC offers a big music and arts program that covers a broad range of mediums and styles. Students perform for their families in music production twice a year.

Top 5 reasons to join UCiC Elementary
01.
Strong Academics
Our #1 priority is student learning and excelling at core subjects such as Math, English / Language Arts / Reading (ELAR), Science, and integrated technology + engineering (STEM). Students have homework every week. Our teachers conference with parents 3x per year to discuss report card grades and develop a plan for individualized learning. We offer free tutoring for those that need extra support. Every year we conduct standardized testing that lets you know how your child scored compared to national medians.
02.
Character development
We recognize elementary are formative years for kids and it’s so important for them to gain a moral compass and develop social and emotional skills. The entire school has weekly bible class and chapel time where pastors tell stories of the bible and reflect on how to apply God’s teachings to life. We also have 2x month “Wave Groups” per grade that has a social/emotional curriculum that is taught by our school counselor.
03.
Diverse extracurricular activities
Students have a lot of fun and receive well-rounded education with our diverse special subjects such as art, music, sports, and Spanish. Our after-school program has semester clubs that you can sign up for that range from Lego club, baking club, martials arts, jewelry-making club, nature club, and so much more.
04.
Well-supported students
Our teachers are well-supported, which means our students are well-supported. The teacher to student ratio is less than 20:1. Often, we have teacher aids that rotate for core subjects pulling the ratio down to 10:1 which means students transition better and students get more support to stay focused. In addition, we allow students to test into higher math classes to stay challenged and learn more (for example: a 3rd grader can go into a 4th or 5th grade math class).
05.
Flexible hours
We offer before school care and after school programs that enable you flexible drop off and pick up times from 6am – 6pm. Our normal school hours are 9am – 3:30pm.
Also, when public schools close for winter and spring breaks and other odd off days, we stay open with our after-school programming so that you don’t have to scramble to find childcare!
